Bad afternoon. I seriously wanted to take one of my children and kick him to the curb. I spent my afternoon so incredibly frustrated and unbelievably angry. Uggggggggggg.
This particular child (those of you who were on the fields tonight know who I am talking about because of his outlandish display of insane behavior) decided to scream and yell at me when I did not give him the food he wanted at the particular time he wanted it.
I realize that the kids are going through a difficult time and trying to judge how much of the behavior is just normal kid behavior and how much of it is Gary's death is sometimes challenging to say the least.
Tonight I reached my breaking point. I wanted to just go off screaming and yelling at him with every 4 letter word I know.
But, I didn't. I held my composure (somewhat) and at 8 PM we went home. Had I had some duct tape I probably would have put it across his mouth but thankfully I let one of my other friends borrow it for the week as she is also having discipline issues! HAHA
His attitude totally turned around before bed and he apologized. It was nice to hear it BUT it is too late to get him out of the deep trouble he is in. Live and learn and some of us have to do it the hard way!
I am gearing up for a busy rest of my week. Lots going on at church and at home.
I would really enjoy going out on the town a few times in the next week. I need it as I have not been out in such a long time.
I think I am really going to make that a priority as I need time away from home to be rejuvenated.
Going to bed I think. We will see if I can fall asleep. I have had a touch of insomnia this week for some reason. Hopefully this will pass.

A Look inside our family......
If any of you have not had the chance to walk the grounds of the Montage in Laguna Beach you are really missing something amazing!!!
I am at the Montage with Zach and my Dad and I am standing on the beautiful rock that jets out from the middle of the cove and it is the most amazing morning! The air is so warm and the breeze is gently blowing.
I look down to see the reef and the beautiful colors of the seaweed garden that sway with the tide. In such a small place there are so many amazing things about creation that just make me stop to remember to thank God for all he has entrusted to us!
This very moment makes me feel so blessed to have so many blessings! So many family members and friends who surround us and love us and are ready to go on this new journey with us.
As I am thinking my pride gets a hold of me for a moment and I tell myself that I can do this on my own. My thought is that I don't want to have to have help and put people in this position!
Then, as quickly as that thought fills my pride-filled head another one enters. This time, I begin to realize that there is no way we can do this on our own. First and foremost, our same Father who has created this amazing place that I get to spend so much time at is the same one who has blessed us with amazing family and friends who want to care for us.
There are simply no words to express my gratitude and love to everyone who surrounds us and is a part of our life - big or small!
Please take some time and get down to the Montage. Go with your spouse, a friend, your kids! When you are there take in the beauty that surrounds you and take a deep breath and thank God for everything you have and the fact that HIS spirit lives in all of us! What a privilege it is that we are all on this journey together!
I am not ready to leave my rock because the morning is the best part of my day and this day is looking amazing and I want to stay right here feeling exactly how I do right now! Zach is coming out of the water and he really wants to head down to Strands to walk on beach! Who am I to argue? What a day the Lord has made! I am certainly going to be glad and rejoice in it!!

So sorry you are having trouble with the kids. I guess that's the way it goes. Be sure and go through everything so when I have one I can ask you what to do.

Ohhhh....and you don't even have iPods, cellphones and texting yet! Good luck with that! LOL. I couldn't imagine if you had three GIRLS! One's enough here. If I only knew a couple of years ago what I know now, I'd have a few less wrinkles and a heckuva lot less gray hair! Enjoy BW and your time there - sure you are on a first name basis, right? You'll be living there - no, it's not the hut in the Turks & Caicos you want - sorry!
